Your dog's welfare
The welfare of your dog is paramount to me, and I adhere to the Animal Welfare act 2006 at all times. This includes the 5 Animal welfare needs.
- Need for a suitable environment - Comfy crate provided with a mat or towel so that your dog is comfortable if it needs to wait for you to collect it for a short period.
- Need for a suitable diet – Water provided at regular intervals so that your dog does not become dehydrated.
- Need to be homed with or apart from other animals – I operate a one in – one out appointment system so your dog should not be housed with other dogs they do not know. If you have 2 dogs I can take them both together. One will be in a comfy crate while the other is groomed.
- Need to exhibit normal behaviour – Your dog will have a break from grooming if required for a breath of fresh air and toileting.
- Need to be protected from pain, suffering and disease – Salon is clean and safe. All surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. All tools are inspected, maintained and sharpened regularly, sterilised using a UV steriliser and cleaning/sterilising fluid to avoid cross contamination.
I undertake a brief visual health check on your dog before the groom commences to make sure there is nothing obviously wrong with it that may require veterinary assistance and that could stop the groom. If anything is found at this point that would affect the dog or groom I will contact you by telephone.
