At K9 Hairdooz all dogs that come into the salon are VIPs – Very Important Pets!!! As such they will be treated with love, kindness and patience. All of our dogs are different, with different temperaments and needs. I became a dog groomer after falling in love with my Miniature Schnauzer. I decided to learn how to groom him, and signed up at my nearest college to do a Dog grooming course. I then found that I loved the whole process of working with all kinds of different breeds of dog, and dealing with all aspects of dog grooming. I am fully qualified, and have attained a Distinction in “City&Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Professional dog grooming” qualification.
I am also quite competitive, and enter Dog grooming competitions when I can. I won a 1st place at SupergroomSW2019, and also won "Best Up and coming dog groomer" at the BIGA (British Isles Grooming Association) competition in December 2019.

All dogs benefit from being groomed on a regular basis. Long, medium and short coated dogs should be groomed. This promotes a good pet/owner relationship and encourages a healthy coat and dog.
It is also a good way to spot any issues that the dog may have during its lifetime e.g. an invasion of the dreaded fleas or other parasites like ticks. Skin conditions and other illnesses may also be noticed early if the dog is groomed regularly, and veterinary treatment sought early.
It is also good to brush or comb regularly (daily at home especially in summer months) to remove foreign bodies such as grass seeds from the dogs feet and coat. These can cause painful and sometimes dangerous issues if they embed into the skin.
Daily combing or brushing will also create a trusting bond between yourself and your beloved dog, which you will both probably enjoy, as well as to stop the coat from becoming tangled and matted on longer coated breeds.
